HOW MUSIC LESSONS WORK

SCHEDULING

When you contact Jim to set up your lesson plan, you agree on a day ant time that is both convenient for you and available in his schedule. That day and time is then blocked out for the month. If  you are ready to start lessons check the schedule for available lesson times.  Make a choice as explained on that page and contact Jim for confirmation of that day and time.

COST

Lesson tuition is $40 per hour of instruction once a week. For most beginners and younger students a 1/2 hour ($20) lesson once a week is the general rule. Older students and adults can handle and often request a 1 hour lesson. Master Class lessons can be anywhere from 1 – 2 hours or more in length.  Lesson fees are due with the first lesson of the month or by the 7th day of the month, for the entire month in advance.  Simply multiply my fee by the number of days of the month on which your lesson falls to determine the amount payable.  Checks should be made out to Andersong Music.  Any check returned by your bank will result in a $30.00 bank fee.  A Late Payments Charge of $20.00 will be assessed if payment is not received by the 7th of the month.

MAKEUPS

The Student is responsible for being in the lesson room at agreed upon day and time.  A paid lesson reserves the agreed upon time of instruction. No-shows, late 10 minutes or more, or less than 24 hour notice result in charged lessons. If a student misses two lessons in a month, their time slot may be forfeited.  Illness, school holidays or field trips are the only excused absences.  If student gives a minimum 24 hours notice of cancellation, teacher may, at his discretion, credit the lesson fee to future date or arrange a make-up lesson.  Every effort will be made to offer a make-up lesson if there is an opening in the schedule.

CANCELLATIONS

Student must notify instructor of planned vacation from lessons two weeks in advance.  Student will notify instructor two weeks in advance when he or she intends to discontinue lessons.  Instructor may cancel instruction at any time and arrange refunds if applicable.
